The House Higher Education Committee passed a higher education bill that will be voted on by the House of Representatives in December or January. The bill has already been passed by the Senate and it will renew the Higher Education Act.

The bill will award grants to colleges that promote partnerships with companies and organizations. It will also challenge the fact that in many instances needy students are unable to get TRIO grants renewed.

If the bill passes it will establish federal higher-education policy for the next five years.
