2008 Employment Outlook Positive for Graduates
According to a recent report by the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State University, U.S. companies will hire more graduates in 2008 than in 2007.
Large companies are expected to hire nine percent more graduates in 2008, and the fields of engineering, business, the social sciences and the humanities will experience the greatest increases. Meanwhile, companies with less then 100 employees will hire 12 percent more graduates.
Overall, more information technology graduates will be hired in 2008 and seven percent more M.B.A. graduates will be hired as compared to 2007. In addition, the report indicates that salaries may increase up to five percent in 2008.
